My
Life History As It Pertains to Video Games:
Like most people my
age I started with the Atari 2600. My mother was against video
games becuase we only had one TV and she did not want me hogging
it with games. I had to play at a friend's house. I spent a lot
of time and a lot of allowance at the arcade's until my neighbor
got a NES. This was much more exciting than my Apple IIC.
Finally we got a new
TV, and I got the old one and a Genesis. I tried to play as many
games as I could. I also got a Gameboy, one of the big clunky
ones, but I was damn good at Ninja Turtles.
Then I took a hiatus
through the Sega CD/32x/3DO Era. Once the Sega Saturn and the
PSX became big, I got back into the gaming scene, in full blast!
My roomate Josh, a former reviewer for the site, got a Saturn
and we spent countless nights kicking each other's ass at Virtua
Fighter or racing in Sega Rally. Then I got a Playstation and
well lets just say that began a mad crazy addiction. An N64 followed
with a Super Nintendo not far behind, and now a Dreamcast.
Health, exercise, girlfriends
have all taken a back seat to the allure of the video game. Now
whereas I do not have the most extensive collection by any means,
I play a lot of games and I just want to play everything else.
