Well, here it is, we've been waiting and preparing, Batman and Robin has arrived! Let's face it, most Batman games we've seen have been... well... crap. But Acclaim has put alot of work into this one, and it shows. This games relies more on Batman's detective skills then just fighting, but don't fret, there's fighting...lots of fighting.

You start out in the Batcave and you have your choice of 3 characters, Batman, Robin, and Batgirl. Each one having there strengths and weakness. But in really, there all the same, except Batgirl has really choice weapons. Pick your character and your off. You have to use the Batcomputer to piece clues together and figure out where Mr. Freeze is going to strike next. Once you figure that out... wait around the Batcave, because it's easy to figure out where he is going to be. But there is all kinds of neat things to do in the Batcave, target practice, holographic fighting. Now you've putzed around the Batcave enough, jump in your prospective vehicle and get going.

Along the way you'll see random crimes you have to stop, which is usually a mugging. Now you can let the thugs beat the citizens senseless and go to the major crimes, but they might have clues to Mr. Freeze's next crime. Why do they... I have no idea... they're not even working for him! So you stop some crimes, now to get the big stuff, here's where it gets hard. Apparently all the buildings in Gotham have secret passages, so when you get to where you have to go, you have to navigate inside there. It get's a little confusing, especially since henchmen pop out of nowhere and get you all twisted around. You'll get the hang of it. Gather more clues and stop some more crimes, sounds easy... it's not.

Batman and Robin is a great looking game. The graphics are a little grainy, but the way the characters jump and then glide on their capes makes up for it. The control is a little funky and hard to get used to, but when you get the hang of it, it's a snap. The fighting is decent and you get all kinds of crazy bat-gadgets to use. The puzzles are a little complicated and you'll probably get your ass wiped before you figure them all out. You'll have to start over, but you will be wiser. The driving sequences could be better, the Batmoblile takes up the whole road, and you bump into everything. Plus bad guys are trying to kill you with other vehicles everytime you hit the streets. This just gets annoying after awhile.

Basically Batman and Robin is a super game, if you willing to invest some time in it. This in my opinion makes it great game, you get that movie feel. You'll over look the quirks, because the gameplay is just that good. Don't get to frustrated on the puzzles, and watch out for hidden bad guys, but most importantly, have fun.
