My Life History As It Pertains to Video Games:

Well, ever since '85 or so, everyday after school I would go to the arcade religiously. I would sacrifice eating lunch just so I could get a couple of rounds of Space Invaders in. Then I would go home and play Combat or Bezerk on my Atari 2600. Then I moved on to playing Q-bert, the Smurfs, and Dig-Dug on my Colecovision. I witnessed the progression of video games over the years, as I got taller and taller. I got my NES, played the hell out of Zelda, Castlevania, Ghosts-n-Goblins, Mike Tyson's Punch-out, Rygar, and Contra. Classics came and went and I had played them all. I listened to LL Cool J and De La Soul when I wasn't playing games. I was about 12 or 13 years old when out of nowhere Street Fighter hit the streets. Oddly enough, my mom's laundry change kept disappearing around the same time. Little did I know that the Street Fighter games were my training for what was to come. I became fond of drawing characters and new ways of writing my name. When the Genesis appeared I was all about my NBA Live and my Madden. By the time Playstation came out, I owned every major system but I was ready for more. From Tomb Raider to Tekken, NHL 98 to Wipeout, I've played the hell out of my Playstation. I've made and lost a lot of friends because of this little habit of mine, but if I could go back, I wouldn't change a thing. Especially since these last 13 years has only been preparation for the games of the next millennium.
